Of all the things we learnt from the COVID-19 pandemic, there are two things in particular that stand out. We had to adapt to working and socialising online, and many of us became more conscious of our own health and wellness.
Two individuals that benefitted from launching their company during the pandemic in 2020 are Jan Basel Safar and his colleague Jacob Olsson.
Koros is a company that focuses on online coaching for certified personal trainers and influencers in the health and wellness sector. Safar and Olsson have been friends since they were young but it was first in 2015 that the two of them became more business-focused. Olsson, who has a background as a personal trainer, needed help from his friend, who has been working with start-ups and minor companies for over 10 years. Together they developed a website where Olsson could promote his business but at the same time keep track of his customers. When Olsson a few years later got contacted (by now a competitor), the two realised that there is a market for their product. “Even though the first version wasn’t as good as we are today, we realised that there’s a market for online coaching.” Safar says.
The idea is to provide a toolkit that consists of two parts. One is more focused on the web
site, the social media accounts and how to best promote yourself. While the other part is to educate the coaches through learning material and courses held twice a month. This is to make sure the quality is maintained and further improved. Safar helps to make the software as optimised as possible. Olsson doesnt't only focus on making sure that the influencer or trainer promotes themselves in the best possible way. He also works to keep the user satisfaction high (in case clients get stuck in their progression).
The duo wants to build long-lasting relationships with their clients and aims to help them for many years ahead.
