SKF USA Inc. receives the 2018 Business Entrepreneurial
Award from Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce —
November 19, 2018 Philadelphia, PA — Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce — Philadelphia (“SACC-Philadelphia”) has selected SKF USA Inc. to receive its annual Business Entrepreneurial Award 2018. The award was introduced by the Chamber in 2010, and seeks to recognize companies or individuals that have made a significant contribution to the exchange of trade and commerce between Scandinavia and the Greater Philadelphia Region—as well as important contributions toward innovation and technological advancement, corporate social responsibility and sustainable business practices.
This is the second time SACC-Philadelphia has recognized SKF USA Inc. with the award, due to the company’s strong focus on sustainability and BeyondZero thinking—aiming to reduce environmental impact of both their own and their customers’ operations. Furthermore, SACC-Philadelphia selected to recognize SKF USA Inc. because they continue to make important contributions toward corporate social responsibility, as well as providing their employees with equal opportunities for personal and professional growth.
“With their BeyondZero thinking, SKF have managed to reduce their energy use and CO2 emissions across their entire value chain. Their climate strategy and commitment to sustainability in their business practices is a true inspiration to corporations across the world. The decision to recognize SKF with the Business Entrepreneurial Award a second time was therefore made unanimously by SACC-Philadelphia’s executive committee,” said Maria Johansson, Vice President of SACC-Philadelphia.
The award was presented to SKF USA Inc. at SACC-Philadelphia’s annual Glögg Party on November 14, 2018—a holiday business mixer held at the Racquet Club of Philadelphia in Center City.
“On behalf of the entire SKF organization—thank you! We are very fortunate to have a partnership with the Swedish-American Chamber and we appreciate all your efforts for Sweden, for America, for Philadelphia and for bridging a divide that is not that big anymore,” said Ted Barry, Vice President and General Counsel of SKF USA Inc., who accepted the award on behalf of SKF.
